AMADA announces the opening of application process for Athletes Advisory Commision membership

The role of athletes in the fight against doping and promotion of clean sport is extremely important. Therefore, considering as one of the priorities, AMADA has taken a move forward and institutionalized the cooperation with athletes. Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) has established an Athletes Advisory Commission. Its mission will be to represent athletes within AMADA and advice it on the issues related to the protection of athletes’ rights and promotion of clean sport. The Commission will serve as a liaison between athletes and AMADA.

 

The composition of Commission will consist of twelve member athletes. Ten members will be athletes nominated by national federations and two members will be appointed from athletes’ community via public announcement. In order to ensure a fair and diverse representation, the principles of gender balance and age representation will be followed.

 

The duties of Commission will mainly consist of supporting the core mission and advice AMADA on athletes related issues. AMADA will work together with the Commission on crucial points and emerging anti-doping issues, as well as collaborate to integrate athletes’ opinions and needs in its activities.

 

AMADA announces the application process for membership. To be considered, all applications must include a curriculum vitae and be forwarded by 15 February, 2020 to office@amada.az.
