Gabala, the designated "Sports Capital" of 2025, hosted a grand parade on March 5 to commemorate Physical Education and Sports Day.
The event brought together Olympic and Paralympic champions, sports ambassadors, volunteers, representatives of sports federations and the broader sports community, alongside employees of the Azerbaijan National Antidoping Agency (AMADA).
The parade commenced in front of the North-West Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and proceeded through the city, concluding near the Gabala Regional "ASAN Service" Center.
Following the procession, Azerbaijan’s National Anthem was performed, marking the official ceremony. Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, and Head of the Gabala District Executive Authority, Sabuhi Abdullayev, extended their congratulations to the assembled members of the sports community, emphasizing the importance of sports and physical education in fostering a healthy and active society.
The celebration concluded with a concert program, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
