On December 16, 2024, the “Clean Victory: Rethinking the Olympic Year” international conference was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baku, organized by the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event brought together state officials, Olympic champions, federation leaders, senior representatives from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Testing Agency (ITA), the Council of Europe, national anti-doping organizations, distinguished professors, and international experts. Discussions centered on the achievements and challenges of the Olympic year and advancing the global fight against doping.
The opening ceremony included remarks from Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Ms. Mariana Vasileva, and AMADA Executive Director, Dr. Tahmina Taghi-zada, both emphasizing the significance of international cooperation for clean sport. A video address by WADA President Mr. Witold Bańka highlighted the agency’s commitment to fostering fairness in sports.
The conference featured interactive sessions, each followed by engaging Q&A segments that provided participants with a platform to address key issues and exchange insights.
A creative highlight of the event was an exhibition of winning photographs from the international competition “Olympic Spirit: Beyond Victory and Defeat,” jointly organized by AMADA and the Gilavar Photo Club.
