Under the banner of Clean Sport, the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) reaffirmed its commitment to fostering anti-doping awareness through education. As part of the third Sports Festival, held in Quba—designated the 2024 Sports Capital of Azerbaijan—AMADA hosted an educational seminar tailored for athletes and coaches.

Qudrat Safarov, AMADA’s Lead Education Specialist, led the seminar, delivering an insightful session on key anti-doping topics. Participants explored critical areas such as anti-doping rule violations, the doping control process, athletes’ rights and responsibilities, therapeutic use exemptions, the consequences of prohibited substances, sanctions, the Prohibited List, whereabouts requirements, and the ADAMS system.

The seminar’s interactive format encouraged active engagement, with participants posing questions and gaining a deeper understanding of the issues discussed.

The initiative aimed to nurture the physical and moral development of young athletes, instilling the values of fairness and integrity in sports. By emphasizing adherence to anti-doping regulations, the seminar equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to make informed and ethical choices throughout their sporting careers.

The festival, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Baku City Circuit Operating Company, attracted 100 athletes aged 13-15 and 34 coaches representing 23 sports disciplines. International participation by athletes from Turkey and Morocco added a global dimension to the event.

This marks the third edition of the Sports Festival, following its successful launches in Shaki in 2022 and Quba in 2023. With its focus on education and collaboration, the festival continues to inspire young athletes to uphold the spirit of clean sport.
