35 Years Since Bloody January: A Tribute to Heroes

Thirty-five years have passed since the tragic events of Bloody January, a defining moment in Azerbaijan's history. Each year, the people of Azerbaijan come together to honor the martyrs of 20 January, recognizing their pivotal role in the nation’s struggle for independence. From the early hours of this solemn day, large crowds gather at the Alley of Martyrs to pay their respects, placing carnations at the graves of the fallen.

The events of 20 January are remembered not only as a tragedy but also as a testament to the courage and resilience of the Azerbaijani people. To mark this significant occasion, the staff of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) visited the Alley of Martyrs, paying tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity. With deep respect, they laid flowers at the graves, honoring the memory of these national heroes.
